ABOUT FIRME PHYSIOLOGY
Kurt Escobar, PhD is an Associate Professor of Exercise Physiology and Co-Director of the Physiology of EXercise and Sport (PEXS) Laboratory at California State University, Long Beach, Certified Sports Nutritionist from the International Society of Sports Nutrition (CISSN), National Strength & Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT), and veteran practitioner in the field of health and fitness. His teaching and academic work centers on how and why training and nutrition can improve human health, function, and performance. He also has over a decade of experience in the fitness and nutrition field working with multiple client populations.

Kurt Escobar's work has looked at numerous topics in exercise physiology including cellular mechanisms such as autophagy, the effect of exercise on cardiometabolic health, and exercise nutrition for performance and recovery.
